The Ultimate Gaming Challenge Niagara (“UGC Niagara”) was hosted by The District School Board of Niagara this past weekend at the scenic Niagara Falls in Canada.

GUNNAR Optiks were seen throughout this video game event, as we directly supported this great event that raised money for educational and a variety of charities. This video game tournament was another unique event that was managed by Jet Set Studio and was a total success with 60+ 4v4 Call of Duty: MW3, 4v4 Gears of War 3, and “icing” on the cake, 2v2 NHL 12.

With over $30,000 is cash and prizes, which included tons of GUNNARS, participants were wide-eyed with excitement all weekend long.  Along with the attendees who enjoyed a beautiful venue, Focus Fire provided a professional live stream for all the online viewers at home.  The UGC Niagara live stream boasted over 475,000 viewers on Twitch.TV, during the two day event.

The Tournament Director, Ben McDougal, had this to say: “After The 3rd Annual Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge in March and with celebrating Jet Set Studio’s 5th anniversary, it was a special treat to manage our first international gaming event with the DSBN.  It was a treat to once again partner with Focus Fire and we were especially proud to showcase GUNNAR Optiks as one of many amazing event sponsors.  In fact, many Canadians hadn’t seen GUNNARS in action, so it was a great opportunity to share your awesomeness to a whole new community of Canadian gamers!”

You can still catch the gameplay highlights from the UGC Niagara live stream and be sure to check out the entire collection of event highlights available on www.UGCNiagara.com.
